I suggest that we meet once a month and have "meetings" and then on another day in the same month we meet up an have a social evening lets say a a nice resturant somewhere where evrybody can go and we can have some fun. |
Great idea! I`ll pick the venue. Tandoori Royale restaurant. For those of you who don`t know it, here`s the address & postcode. 762 Burnage Lane Burnage, Manchester M19 1HU I`ll book a table in advance for about 12 people (or is that being pessimistic)? By the way, remember to wrap up warm. The weatherman says it`s going to snow. See you all there......! |

Getting back to suggestions,.....
To whom it may concern. Is it possible (or desirable) to have a "chat-board?" An area where subjects outside of designated forums or ~between~ designated forums are debated. It could also be used as a space to take the Michael out of people (like myself) without taking up space in the forum! Just an idea and I realise it would take a little bit of discipline on behalf of your membership. Is it workable,....???? |

I guess whom it may concern would be me. The answer is "Not Really". Mainly because that's what the "General" category in the forum is for. It's for anything that doesn't fit into the normal course of the other categories. As for the idea of a chat board, isn't that the same thing as a forum or message board, which I believe this is. If on the other hand you want some kind of "live chat" I don't see much point in it, especially since there never seems to be more than 1 or 2 people on here at any given time.
Never settle with words when a flamethrower is so much more fun ... |

Yes, I expect it would fall to you to make that workable. As far as live-chat is concerned, I am not really into that and as you say, there wouldn`t be much call for it. Anyone who wanted live chat with other members would MSN each other anyay. However, the `general` that you refer to have always got subjects ascribed to them. What I refer to is where members and perhaps visitors can leave the kind of jokey messages that punctuate an ongoing discussion. As an example,..... Member "A" might talk about the laws of Newtonian Relativity as pertaining to Einstinian Quantum Mechanics,...while Member "B" might reply that this was inherent in his/her reply regarding pagan religious monotheistic dynamisms as a vortex for further dialysis. Anyone who wished to join the discussion would be free to do so but also anyone who thought we were talking crap (as surely we would be) would be able to point this out without `intruding` (I don`t want to sound exclusionist) upon the flow of that particular thread. BUT !!!
It`s easy to make a request. SO much harder to make it happen. My hat is off to you ! |
