Rumours of Christopher Eccleston's casting as the Doctor in the forthcoming television revival of Doctor Who have been circulating for days. This has been confirmed today by BBC media outlets, including a quote from series writer Russell T. Davies. The Adelaide Sunday Mail still managed to jump the wrong way at the eleventh hour (possibly by following Associated Newspapers' Daily Mail), and claim Bill Nighy had been chosen.
