I was looking at a movie review site where they had both critic review and fans review and for the majority of films the scores where very different. i dont find this unusual because critics are full of hot air.

As being a sometime film critic myself - see Jimmy for details - I agree somewhat with that statement.
Everyone has their own opinions and different films suit different tastes.
There have been many critics who I haven't agreed with and others I have.
A film should have a good strong story first and entertain the audience in its own way.
You can have the best actors in the world in a film and it can still be rubbish.
If the story isn't there, then the movie isn't there either.
I had to laugh the other day when I read the ad for the Will Smith film 'I Am Legend'
The ad screamed that the E Entertainment Network film critic thought it was 'One of the greatest films of all time' Hardly a ringing endorsement from that network.
The ad also claimed that it was the 'No. 1 film in Australia'.
I found that odd considering that I read the ad on Friday and it had only opened the day before - how can it be No 1 already???
The film itself was just ok - great visuals but very cliched.
Of course that's only my opinion......

In my mind, it's a good movie if I don't fall asleep, it's a great movie if I get engrosed in it and my belief is suspended so much I lose track of time.
However, the reviews you see in adds are snippets of a greater review where the editor has taken several words, not necessarily together, and made them appear as if they were in the same sentence with the use of '....'

I am not talking about Anne Wills who loved every movie she saw or Stan James who seams to hate evry move he sees. The ones who have probably written the Crtic before they enter the cinema. Make them pay to see the film then see what they think.
