How can you not notice (or more to the point - hear) The Lord???? Or is your attention focused on other matters, Lord President????? |

What are they like? would prefer the Oxford and do they have tables where we can sit the night through without getting smoked out? |

The Goodwood was very good.
I'll settle for that - but in keeping with jestear's suggestion, perhaps with the warmer weather coming, we could have lunch in the Botanic Gardens, or take advantage of the 'Moonlight Cinema' thingy that happens every summer at night in the Botanic Gardens. |

The Moonlight Cinema sounds good - lets watch Hellraiser there - byo ouija board.
Two months to the picnic, are we still gatecrashing his lordships place? They do have a very nice BBQ - or so I'm told. |

I'd love to do the Moonlight cinema - but I draw a very sharp line in the sand when it comes to using oiuja boards - its just plain silly in my opinion.
Gate crashing the Lord's place would raise enough hell anyway - I'd do that, but claim no responsibility.....I'll just say that you coerced me into it against my free will.
BBQs are great - why don't we try asking him nicely instead? |

I don't think he'll respond well to being asked nicely, but you could ask him, you do nice better than me. |

Aaaaaaaagh!
Bugger!
Well, the Lord told me that it was his idea a few years back for the SFSA to have pub nights, and I do think your idea is quite a good one (would be a hell of a laugh!).
But, it is Ms. Lord's house, and I don't want to piss her off.
I do have free will, and I now say "No" to your plans (unless we actually rationally talked it through with the Lord and his Mum - if we both diplomatically did it together, they may actually like the idea).
What do you say? |

Ok - but you can be assertive, and I'll be nice and gentle.
But when it comes down to the final word, I think its only right that Mrs. Lord says what happens and what doesn't. |

A moot point anyway, we shall ask at this weekends meeting, otherwise it'll be in the botanic park...you can collect a couple of uni students. |

Botanic Gardens sounds very nice -
......but now I wish I never said anything about my lovely Uni days - for f*** sakes, it wasn't that bloody sordid!!!!!! I just had some nice times there in that time of my life, and I really like to remember it (keeps me young!).
I think now I should have kept such things to myself (as if I said much anyway!)
"Collect Uni students".......what type of a man do you think I am?????? |
