SET YOUR ALARM FOR AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DOCTOR

ABC is pleased to confirm that it will simulcast the movie-length premiere episode, DOCTOR WHO: DEEP BREATH in line with its UK broadcast, at 4.50am on Sunday 24 August (EST).

Following the simulcast, the episode will be available to watch on ABC iview throughout the day before its broadcast on ABC at 7.40pm.

This spectacular episode reunites the newly regenerated Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and returning companion Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) with series regulars and fan favourites The Paternoster Gang -- Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh), Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart) and Strax (Dan Starkey) -- in a pulse-racing adventure.

When the Doctor arrives in Victorian London he finds a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions. Who is the new Doctor and will Clara's friendship with him survive as they embark on a terrifying mission into the heart of an alien conspiracy? The Doctor has changed. It's time you knew him.

In addition, ABC will screen an exclusive interview with Peter Capaldi, WHEN JULIA MET THE DOCTOR, on Wednesday 20 August at 8pm.

Filmed in Sydney during the World Tour, the 30-minute interview will explore Peter's experiences playing the Doctor so far, his relationship with the character over the years and the challenges in taking on a role of such global cultural significance.

Julia will also explore Peter's TV and film career -- from his first acting role in the film Local Hero to the foul-mouthed and manipulative Malcolm Tucker in The Thick of It.
