All this original sin and biblical stuff is boring and depressing me. I've got enough on my mind right now other than the reassuring comfort that I'm going to be living in eternal torment when I die and go to hell.

Ummm, yeah, it gives me lots of ideas.



It shows me that though I don't know much about organised western religions, whenever I try to communicate with someone who was indoctrinated in one of these religions and try to question them about the Eden thing and other inconsistencies in the Bible, I get told that their brain hurts and to go run away and play in traffic, yes, I've also tried it out on my Muslin friends re the Koran and get the same response.



OK, getting back to the original theme, your last paragraph – you forgot to include religious persuasion.  A persons religion will also steer them into what and how to think.  Extreme Islam teaches women to have no thought, that they are worthless except for baby making/cooking dinner.  Or that the man has made a wrong decision.



In some of the stricter religions, debating or alternative thinking, even in a 'what if' scenario is totally abhorrent to them and would be considered against their god.

Have you misinterpreted me?

I studie Philosophy, Politics and Economics. And I attended bible study - but indoctrinated by a religion - I don't know where you got  that from.



And haven't you noticed that I just try to steer this forum away from those ideas because they exist in oblivion, and I'm actually more concerned with practical thinking regarding the mind and human nature - and I think we could make something happen with those plans I emailed you recently......oh, and I like to continue my research for scholarly/educational purposes - and communicating with you is fun.

But I am concerned about where this 'religious indoctrination' got linked with my identity - 'cos there is no match!
