No, it is the silent film made the salvos. It is recognized as the first full length film made in the world. Martin's article will probably have the correct length, but I think it is about 90 mins or longer. 

thank god, I thought it was the one with Heath Ledger, what was it called, oh I know Brokeback Kelly.

On to the teens...and their list is badly shown up. Arbuckle, Keaton, Chaplin...what they've never heard of them? Birth of a Nation and Caligari had to be there--if they missed them too...!

It must be like most award show, that is if it is a comedy then it must not be any good.

Comedy, SicFi and Fantasy. Unless it is for special effects. 

The '20s...More films than the previous two decades, but still some striking omissions...Safety Last gave us the image of Harold Lloyd hanging off a clock face on a tall building, and it's a pretty fun film...I think The Lodger is one of Hitchcock's best...The Jazz Singer is famous for sound, but doesn't have much else going for it...An Andalusian Dog? Well, the list of only of things you're supposed to see, not enjoy!
